Scripture Reading:

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Introduction:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 beautifully illustrates the value of companionship and mutual support. It emphasises that: Two are better than one, whereby working together creates better outcomes. Support in times of need: If one falls, the other can help them up. Comfort and warmth: Friendship provides physical and emotional warmth. Strength in unity: Together, people can defend themselves and are stronger, like a cord of three strands that cannot easily brake. This passage emphasises the importance of fellowship and the strength that comes from being united with others.

Questions:

  1. What is your image of a good friendship?

Embrace the comfort and security that come from being part of a supportive community, knowing that together, you can face any challenge with resilience and grace. Let your fellowship be a source of joy, encouragement, and spiritual growth, reflecting the divine design for human connection and mutual support.
